Gold Rush fans were excited to see Rick Ness back on the mining show this year. The fan-favorite returned for season 14 after “hitting rock bottom,” over the past few years. Rick is turning his life around and kicks off the season with a new crew member named Morgan. However, it’s bad news from the offset as the two deal with romance rumors sparked by viewers.
Many avid viewers and big fans of the Discovery Channel show will know that Rick got into a relationship with a woman named Leese Marie. He shared snaps of the two of them on his Facebook page. But, little is really known about Rick’s love life as the show he’s on is all about mining.

A year ago, Rick took to Facebook to share a photo of himself with his then-fiancé, Leese Marie.
Rick’s relationship has reportedly been on the rocks a few times over the past year. But, he explains in a Facebook post this November that Leese has “always been there” for him.
Despite appearing to be in a relationship, rumors are now swirling in relation to him and his female crew member, Morgan.

Morgan joins Gold Rush
Gold Rush season 14 sees Palmer, Alaska native Morgan join Rick’s crew.
Per a Facebook post from Rick, shared on November 2, that any rumors around him being in a relationship with Morgan is “just talk.”
He wrote: “She came as a recommendation from a good friend with plenty of operating experience and is a solid member of the team, and that’s it.”
Rick continued to explain that the events of his life in the past few years have been down to his own choices. However, some people are pointing the finger at his girlfriend. He wrote: “I’m not sure why people aren’t grasping that and are still trying to blame Leese.”
The Discovery star added that Leese was getting “affected in a negative way” by “these accusations.”
Rick broke down on Gold Rush this year and explained he hit rock bottom outside of the show. He’s been through some hard times including the death of his mother in 2018 and battles with addiction.
Defending Leese, he concludes: “Everything has not always been smooth sailing between us because of all of this but the bottom line is she has always been there for me and she’s very happy with all of the improvements I’ve made.”
