Gold Rush

Gold Rush fans say ‘complaining’ Kevin Beets ‘forgot where dad’s $15 million came from’

Gold and wealth go hand in hand. So, it makes perfect sense that Gold Rush OG Tony Beets would be sitting on a hefty net worth. But his riches haven’t come easy. Mining is no walk in the park by any means, and Tony has raised his children to help out in the family business. Each season, the Beets’ navigate the challenges of making money in the Yukon, but this year, fans have a bone to pick with Tony’s son, Kevin.

Gold Rush fans have seen Tony and his family deal with all kinds of equipment mishaps and dramatic dynamics over the years. His son stepped away from the operation in season 14 leaving his sister to keep things going on the Discovery Channel show. The head of the Beets family, Tony, said they’d “have to make it work” without Kevin.

Kevin Beets grew up on Gold Rush

For the past 10 years, Kevin has appeared on Gold Rush alongside his dad, Tony, and mom, Minnie.

He and his siblings are a huge part of the Beets’ mining operation and have been on Gold Rush since 2013.

Kevin writes on his Facebook page he’s the “son of Tony Beets” and a “gold miner of 16 years.”

Over the past decade, the Beets have encountered many changes including Kevin’s sister, Monica, starting a family of her own and Kevin spending some time away from the mine to live with his partner, Faith Teng.

Tony Beets’ net worth

While some of the Gold Rush miners are leaving their old careers behind to try and find their fortune in mining, others are part of mining families who have been running operations for generations.

Parker Schnabel was just 16 when he took over his grandfather’s Big Nugget Mine site. Nowadays he’s a millionaire with a net worth to rival his co-stars.

Another mining family joined the Discovery show this season – the McCaughans who are famed for finding a baby mammoth in the Yukon in 2022.

After many years of mining, Tony has a net worth of $15 million, writes Celebrity Net Worth.

Some seasons have seen him bring in over $5 million, so it’s no wonder Tony ranks the highest in net worth among the Gold Rush stars.

Fans disappointed by Kevin’s ‘complaints’

While Kevin has some Gold Rush fans backing him and wanting him to “branch out” and run his own wash plant, others are quick to critique him for “complaining” in this year’s season.

One viewer suggested they think he “forgot where money comes from,” writing: “Just watching the new episode, There’s a lot of complaints from Kevin and I think he’s forgetting where dinner and money comes from. It’s a shame he acts like this is an easy game his Family is playing.”

Another said: “…wish my dad would let me have a multi-million dollar business that I only had to work 6 months a year on…”

But Kevin’s loyal followers were also hitting up his comments section to say “keep up the good work” as he shared a snap of “all the Volvos” on social media.
