However, it doesn’t mention Gold Rush or Parker Schnabel. It’s clickbait that tries to get fans to click and find out more. They’ll continue clicking through the lengthy slideshow to get the information they’re looking for, while the ad achieves its goal. The online ad is trying to get readers to its website so they can click around and read its other articles.

Gold Rush alum Jimmy Dorsey speaks out about the show

That online ad in question was misleading. However, there was an interview with Gold Rush alum Jimmy Dorsey. He appeared in six episodes at the beginning of the show’s run. He was on Gold Rush between 2010 and 2011. In 2016, there were two articles that suggested that Jimmy claimed the show is “fake” and then he “exposed” the details.

The excerpts from the original interview were published on Oregon Gold in March 2011. In the lengthy interview, Jimmy admitted that Gold Rush was “scripted from the beginning.” He claims that the show’s producers knew what they were doing. Jimmy even admitted that he didn’t want to leave, but he had to follow along.

“They knew exactly what they wanted to see out of the program. Even me leaving was scripted, but in the way in which it happened was not,” Jimmy Dorsey said at the time. “The plans were made, but the footsteps were ours. They actually direct you into these situations.”
